learning to speak “dog”

I met Lynn Wunderli and Kori Keene approximately 4 years ago when I adopted my very first dog.  My father had passed away on Christmas Day and I had spoken to friends about not wanting to do grief counseling.  My closest friends suggested a dog adoption from a RESCUE, swearing that saving a dog would do more for me emotionally than I could imagine. They were absolutely right!!! 

Abbey the “Wunder Dog” was a Border Collie mix who had deep, soulful eyes, extraordinary energy and was smart as a whip!  

She came to me after a brief stay in a foster home, following having been placed in a kill shelter.  She was severely underweight, needed attention to her coat and skin, and was initially hesitant to trust.

I did extensive research to try and locate my “dog whisperer” who would help teach ME to “speak dog.”  I wanted to learn how to provide Abbey with a rich and full life.  I needed guidance on how to present house rules, provide consistency, a proper healthy diet, and hopefully in time, help heal Abbey’s emotional and physical scars by providing stability and unconditional love.  

Lynn Wunderli was the “dog whisperer,” who made Abbey a “Wunder Dog.”

Kori Keene and Lynn Wunderli have dedicated their lives to saving, loving, understanding and educating dogs.  Both share an innate passion for the gift of these dear creatures who have the ability to enrich our lives, share and keep our deepest secrets, and heal us in ways that no medicine on Earth can.  And they are offering us a lifetime of experience, skills and talents, with Wunderdog and now Zen Dogs Center in Waunakee.

I have known Lynn (Wunderdog) for several years now. She has helped me with my dog who was very aggressive toward my daughter’s dog.  Lynn came to the rescue!  We worked a few times with my dog and my daughter’s dog.  She had tips and strategies on how to handle the situation with confidence.  After my older dog passed away, Lynn helped me start out the right way for lifetime success with my new puppy…she has taught me a lot!

I have known Kori several years also. She is hardworking, loyal, and has so much integrity.  She has helped me recognize dog problem behaviors and how to spot them (examples: at the dog park or meeting another dog on a walk). 

 These women will be so amazing together.  They complement each other perfectly.  They have much wisdom and commonsense when it comes to our four legged furry friends!  I’m so excited for them in opening a doggie daycare in Waunakee!  Knowing the Center will be designed around their years and years of experience is so awesome!

I’m the papa to two rescue pups.  A redbone coonhound mix and an English setter. Both of my “kids” have benefitted from our family’s relationship with Lynn and Kori.

Both dogs have been through more than one training class, with Lynn.  They have each, also benefitted from Lynn training their FATHER to be what he needs to be!  I’m devoted to Lynn’s training principles because they WORK!

Both dogs have been the recipients of countless of hours of care, headed up by Kori.  I count her among my greatest assets to a happy, balanced, and TIRED pair of hooligans!
